Took great care of me
Travis did a great job, servicing me. He kept me infirm about my car being serviced, he explained what I needed to know and he was polite the whole time.
Friendly. Knowledgeable a pleasure to work with. Quick service and I loved the video. Thanks
I’ve had a good experience with Darrow over the years. This is at least the third car I’ve purchased there and have had no complaints.
I absolutely love the deal on the Honda Clarity I got from this dealership. I am thrilled about this car. Kevin and Jimmy (sales manager) are both very nice people. When it came time to start talking numbers for the car, Jimmy slipped in a $500 security etching fee, as well as a $500 service fee to sell the car. If you choose to buy a car from this dealership, make sure you don't let them tack on the security etching fee, that is absolutely unnecessary. Jimmy was quite pushy about me signing a deal on the car so that I could take it home later that day. This used plug in hybrid I bought comes with a $4,000 tax credit, which I was aware of going into purchasing the car. When I asked Jimmy about the tax credit, he told me there was absolutely no tax credit for the car. Jimmy talked to his boss, as well as the financial head of the dealer. Both people told me I was wrong about the tax credit. I had to escalate it another level to the Russ Darrow corporate office in order for them to finally acknowledge the $4,000 tax credit I could get for the car. I spent ~3 hours at the dealership going back and forth about the tax credit. During Jimmy's pitch for buying the car, he told me that the car came with a select certified warranty, which includes a longer (30,000 mile) powertrain warranty and a shorter bumper to bumper warranty. Obviously I loved to hear that, and it made me more inclined to buy the car, knowing I would be protected for near future. When it got to the time where I was paying for the car, the financial head told me that the car was not certified at all, and that it came with no warranty. It's hard to say if Jimmy mistook my car being certified, or if he was lying about it being certified to try to get me to buy it. Thankfully, Jimmy recognized his error and had the car select certified for me the next day. The next day, after the car had gone through the select certified inspection process, I came in to purchase the car. The financial head told me that the select certified warranty only includes a 6 month, 6000 mile warranty on the powertrain (much shorter than the 30,000 mile warranty Jimmy had pitched me). There is also no limited bumper to bumper warranty at all. I was tired of the 7+ hours I had already spent at the dealership trying to buy this car, so I went forward without throwing a fit about it. It is still very disappointing that Jimmy was pitching a long powertrain warranty and limited bumper to bumper warranty on this car that never even existed. At the end of the day, I am very happy with the car I purchased. Going through my troubles with the tax credit and select certified warranty was very annoying though. I had to spend way more time at the dealership than what should have been necessary to buy the car. If you choose to buy from this dealership, do not let them sell you their $500 security etch fee, and be aware of their absurd $500 service fee. Also, take your time reading the fine print of the deal that you are getting and do not let Jimmy rush you into signing a deal.

I went to look at cars, with one in mind. The salesman steered me to another car and stated very quickly "same price". I test drove the car and inspected it and found I really liked it, so proceeded to go ahead with the purchase. This is where things got dicey. First, he did not disclose that the second car was not the same price. It was the same payment, which was what my biggest concern was, but not until I got rolling on the finance part of the deal did I discover that vehicle was a good $10,000 more. Okay, so I went ahead and completed the purchase. I really like the car, but feel the lack of full up front disclosure was sneaky. No, I didn't have to sign the loan docs, but I did. So that's on me. I took the car home, and within 100 miles the check engine light turned on. Right before it came on I had taken the car for emission inspection. The testing station told me that the battery had been disconnected, so I'd have to come back after driving the car for a good 100 miles. So I contacted the salesman who had sold me the car, and described what happened and what the DOT testing station had told me. He said they don't know what they're talking about, and that Russ Darrow would never do something like that in the first place, and they had put $2600 into the vehicle to ready it as a "Certified Pre-owned" vehicle. He told me to bring it in, so I made an appointment and brought it in. Shortly the mechanic came back with the reason the check engine light turned on. He said it had a bad brake booster, and the cost to repair would be $1500. $1500!! And I had just purchased the car three days prior. I told them I could not afford $1500 repair on a vehicle I just bought, having put down my last $1000 to seal the deal. So he went away, and another guy came back and said he could do the repair for $1000. I said that was still not acceptable. So he eventually came down to $500. Obviously that's the oldest trick in the book; start high and then come down by degrees, making me feel like I was getting a real deal. They should have started with $500 and that would have been sufficient. So in the end, my experience was not good at Russ Darrow. I feel I was hoodwinked into buying the second, car, and the check engine light that magically turned on after 100 miles of driving is awful suspect. I do enjoy the car. It's a midnight black Nissan Sentra Special, and I love driving it. So nothing with the car itself, just the underhanded way I was dealt with at the dealer made me like it just a little less. This is why I HATE car shopping. From salespeople who are desperate to ensure you drive something off the lot that day, to the magical check engine light that turned on, after allegedly $2600 was put into the vehicle prior to sale. You mean to tell m that brake booster wasn't uncovered when they were doing their certification process?
